If you can actually see what ports opened up you can replicate these settings and their syntax by adding them to your port forwarding rules manually. If UPnP is somehow successful the only thing it's good for is being able to see the working configuration in action on the router. I guess my question boils down to, why is my router forgetting the UPnP blue iris port forwarding rule every few days? What can I do about it? This assures that if the system reboots each camera and the blue iris computer gets their previous IP re-instated. I have all of my cameras set with a static IP as well as the BlueIris computer using the DHCP reserved list in the Linksys router. My internet comes from Spectrum but their box doesn't support more than one device unless you pay extra so I have the router set in its DMZ and then the Linksys set as a wired DHCP router to a wifi router that is indoors which acts only as a wireless access point. The router is a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi EA3500 that I am using only as a wired router (I turned off WiFi). Then a few days goes by and once again it stops working and once again I have to go in there and add it.įurthermore, if I log into my router and go to port forwarding rules, there is nothing listed there. I then get a green checkmark and I can once again access BI remotely. Having a router with UPnP I click the button that says "Use UPnP to automatically add this rule" and I can see it load up the router and insert BlueIris port 81. When I run through the setup again it fails on the port forwarding page.
One of the things I run into is my remote viewing will stop working. I set up a dedicated computer for BlueIris and have it set up and running just fine.
